Many large
and medium scale organizations have implemented Time and
Attendance system based on various Identity Card types.
These systems were communicating to their respective
computers through separate cable laid for this purpose.
The details collected by this PC, was used for updating
database servers for Salary and other admin purposes.
Now, this has become a standard requirement that the
readers need LA N
connectivity as the entire campus or building is LAN
enabled. The card readers can be connected to the LAN by
using the EAD. This provides
online updation of the data on the server.
In addition to providing online and instantaneous
verification and validation, the data can be made
available on the server on real time basis. This helps
the company to have updated information
about the employees who are currently in factory and
reported to work. This also helps to plan casual workers
to be deployed on a particular day.
The above
illustration shows
an attendance monitoring system. The output of the card
readers are updating the server on real time. So the
server always will have the information on the current
attendance.
